The Brandlbracke is recognized by the FCI Austrian breed ( FCI group 6, section 1.2, Standard No. 63).

Origin and History

As ancestors of the race, the Celts Bracken, which spread with the migration of peoples across Europe apply. In the Middle Ages it was distributed over the Alps valleys specific beats of the Alps Bracke. Hence in the 19th century, some breeds were bred out. 1884 Brandlbracke was entered as the first in the Austrian Dog Breed Book ( ÖHZB ).

Short Description

The Brandlbracke is closely related to the Tiroler Bracke, the Styrian Bracke rough hair, the Slovak kopov, the Bavarian Mountain Hound. It is a medium-sized pad with 48-56 cm shoulder height. The Brandlbracke has a strong but elastic body. The chest is broad, rather deep and long, raised the belly a little. The head is carried high and usually has highly trained eyebrows ( " Vieräugl " ), the blinds ( ears) are of medium length, eyes clear, with an intelligent expression, usually brown. The tail is down in the aisle, directed upward in the search. The color of the Brandlbracke is black with a strong, sharply contrasting, dark brown fire.

Use

The Brandlbracke as well as the Styrian Bracke haired suitable for work before or after the shot. They are characterized by their silence, extreme track will and track safety.
