The Styrian haired Hound is recognized by the FCI breed from Austria ( FCI group 6, section 1.2, Standard No. 62).

Origin and History

Carl Peintinger, trades ( Industrial ) from front mountain in Styria, began in 1870, the breed of wire-haired Styrian Bracke with the Hanover welding bitch Hela I and a rough haired Istrian brackish males. The Styrian haired Hound is closely related to the Tiroler Bracke, the Brandlbracke, the Slovak kopov, the Bavarian Mountain Hound and all of southern Europe Bracken space.

Description

The Styrian Bracke is a wire-haired to 53 cm large deer red to pale yellow hound. The wire-haired is not shaggy, but dull, hard and rough. The hair of the dog on the head is shorter than the rest of the body and forms a mustache. The ears are of medium length, set on high, rounded down, hanging flatly. The "Styrian " or " Peintinger " is considered weather resistant and frugal, which is useful especially in the high mountains and forest. The wire-haired Hound is a passionate hunting dog with a loud and loose bark, in the neck called hunter language, even in difficult terrain can follow the game.

In Germany, the race is run by the German brackish club. In Austria and Switzerland it is managed by the Austrian brackish club.
