Autorail à grande capacité

The AutoRail Grande Capacite short AGC ( German: " railcars with large capacity ") is a multiple unit train was built by Bombardier Crespin for the SNCF. This train is available as diesel, electric and hybrid variant.

Of these new trains (first commissioning from 2004) 700 were ordered by the SNCF, on behalf of the regions. The modularity of the AGC allows each region a say the construction of the train, among other things, whether the train has 2 or 4 cars and how the interior should be constructed.

After Bombardier and Remarul 16 Februarie have signed a contract in November 2010, the AGC will be built under license in Cluj, Romania to offer him in the future railway transport companies in Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia.

AGC series

There are several variants of the AGC:

  • The X 76500: Diesel version, these traits are also called XGC.
  • Z 27500: Electric version of the current systems: 1500 V DC and 25 kV 50 Hz AC voltage, these traits are also called ZGC.
  • B 81500: Two power variant, diesel version and electric version for 1500 V DC voltage, these trains are also known as BGC.
  • B 82500: Two power variant, such as the B 81500, in addition, these trains can run on 50 Hz AC and 25 kV are also called BBGC or BiBi.

Currently there is only the BGC 82500 from TER Champagne- Ardenne, driving on the route Paris -Troyes - Culmont - Chalindrey and the Transilien Paris Provins allowed while driving the traction type to change. This, however, is to apply in the near future for all two power versions, plus the drivers need to be trained.
