Avaí Futebol Clube

Avaí Futebol Clube is a Brazilian football team from Florianópolis in Santa Catarina. It was founded on 1 September 1923. The stadium is the home Ressacada Stadium, with a capacity of 19,000 potential viewers. The club colors are blue and white. 2009 increased Avaí on the first Brazilian league, the Series A.

History

The club was founded after the businessman Amadeu Horn gave a group of sports-loving boy a jersey set. Shortly after, they played against another team called Humaitá and won that game. On September 1, 1923, the club was founded in the House of Amadeu Horn. At this time the club was Avahy Foot - Ball Club. The following year you won the state championship of Santa Catarina.

Avaí played four times, in 1974, 1976, 1977 and 1979, the first Brazilian league. In 1998, the only national titles to be won by winning the championship in the Série C.
