Avi Sagild

Avi Sagild ( born February 22, 1933, Pittsburg, USA, † September 19, 1995 in Copenhagen) was a born in the United States, living in Denmark actress and avowed socialist, with a penchant for the former GDR.

Life

Sagild was the daughter of the director of the film company RKO Richard Helweg Lange and spent five years as a child actress in the United States before the age of 18 in 1951 and settled in Denmark. They quickly learned the Danish language and in 1958 a drama at the Det Kongelige Teaters elevskole ( acting school of the Royal Theatre ) on. After that, she was even at the Det Kongelige Teater active and joined as a theater actress in various leading roles, such as, among others, in the play Indenfor Murene ( within the walls ). Afterwards she worked on Comediehuset, Det Danske Teater and the Fiolteatret in Copenhagen.

As a film actress, she starred in several Danish film and television productions. In the Danish television, she had her best known appearances in the television series Fiskerne ( Fishermen, after a novel by Hans Kirk), The people of Korsbæk ( Matador ) in Kald mig Liva and Charlot og Charlotte ( Charlot and Charlotte). After her death, she was buried at the old cemetery of Frederiksberg (Frederiksberg Ældre Kirkegård ).
