Certified Michael Edele of laut.de that " every song has its own charm " versprühe on the album, " also without have to rely on bretzelnde guitars ". Matthias iron from cdstarts.de considers the album a "perfect repetition of the concept of its predecessor ," which he sees as a major weakness, however, because " in the long run too predictable, too smooth, but often produces the very cliched rock of the four Americans without a real profile " am working. Marcus Schleutermann appeared in the magazine Rock Hard pleased with the album and ruled: " The debut The Better Life sold over five million copies worldwide, has won various awards and was nominated for a Grammy. Faced with this furious start had 3 Doors Down to wear with the successor of a heavy burden. Whether they repeat the commercial success or even exceed, time will tell. Creative alternative rockers have the pressure at any rate stood confidently from Mississippi and delivered with Away from the Sun an album that surpasses the level of the first album. The new single When I'm Gone is the old hit Kryptonite in every way and provides the perfect introduction to an album without failures. The remaining eleven songs are all good to excellent, which I liked the amazing heavy riffende Sarah Yellin ', the dramatic changes and the two melancholy -tinged ticket and I Feel You especially. Worth mentioning are also the strings ballad Here Without You and flavored with percussion elements Dangerous Game, which makes the band around once more enthusiastic with his charismatic voice of Brad Arnold for variety. Producer Rick Parashar (eg Temple Of The Dog, Nickelback ) did a first class job and lived Away from the Sun given an equally as powerful and transparent sound. Strong! "He gave nine out of ten possible points.
