Aweil (Arabic أويل, alternative spellings Uwail, Uwayl or Aweel ) is the capital of the South Sudanese state of Northern Bahr el Ghazal and the Aweil West County.

Location

Aweil is in the northwest of South Sudan between the Rivers Lol in the north and Pongo in the south, along the railway line to Wau and nearly 100 km from the nearest major city.
