Axel Bulthaupt

Axel Bulthaupt ( born February 21, 1966 in Melle ) is a German moderator.

Life

After graduating from high school Melle Bulthaupt studied in Osnabrück and Hamburg History and Literature and already was working the way for a newspaper. In 1989, he completed an internship at Norddeutscher Rundfunk.

After an introduction about the radio program Overture NDR he came quickly to television work. For the NDR, he hosted the youth magazine Here it comes, and the talk show LebensArt. In 1994 Bulthaupt the MDR, where he remained until 2003, the ARD Boulevard Magazine Brisant moderated by 1994. 2000 were awarded as Brisant presenters for the best TV tabloid magazine with the Bambi Axel Bulthaupt, Griselda Wenner and Ines Kruger.

In 2003 the television series Expedition Bulthaupt dealing with moderate German history and archeology, as with the original man of Bilzingsleben or circle grave system of Kyhna. Since 2004 he works as a talk show host in the MDR- shipment Between us and presented in the MDR television entertainment show Sunday - The show's surprises. In March 2007, his first book, " Heidi and Klara in Italy," a travel book for children was published.

For The First and the MDR he moderated in recent years, numerous shows in the evening program. Should be mentioned here about the broadcast at the Grand Prix Euro Vision Song Contest (1998-2003), the Bambi Awards (2001), typical German (2005) and since 1996 the annual José Carreras Gala.

With his own TV production company TIWI MEDIA he produced from 1995 to 2007 for the MDR more than 45 travel reports ( Bulthaupt in ... ) and numerous reports. Since 2008 Bulthaupt is no longer shareholders of TIWI Media GmbH. In addition Bulthaupt also moderates weekly since October 2013 in the MDR television on Sunday evening broadcast CID live.

Bulthaupt is an ambassador of the German Society for Prevention and intervention in cases of child abuse and neglect. In addition Bulthaupt has been committed to the cancer death of his mother in the fight against leukemia by together with José Carreras, he hosts an annual benefit gala for example. 2005 at this event donations came together at a height of over six million euros, a total of more than 65 million euros. He is also the patron of the association "Together against Cancer".

Axel Bulthaupt lives with his partner, a former restaurateur from Bremen, in Leipzig.
