Ayer, Switzerland

Ayer was until December 31, 2008, a municipality in the Val d' Anniviers, district of Sierre in the canton of Valais in Switzerland.

On 1 January 2009 Ayer has merged with five other municipalities of the Valley ( Chandolin, Grimentz, Saint- Jean, Saint- Luc and Vissoie ) to the municipality of Anniviers.

At the Ayer by the peaks and white horn, Zinalrothorn, Bishorn, Obergabelhorn and Dent Blanche belongs surrounded hamlet Zinal.
