The Irrawaddy Division is one of the 14 administrative units of Myanmar.
Geography
The Irrawaddy Division, also known as Ayeyarwady Division, located in the delta of the Irrawaddy on the coast of the Gulf of Bengal. In the north and east it borders the Bago Division, in the east even to the Yangon Division, in the south and south-east and south-west to the Bay of Bengal, on the northwest by the Rakhine State. Population

Economy
The Irrawaddy Division is considered the rice bowl of Burma. The beaches are Chaungtha and Ngwesaung. Chaungtha is also mostly visited by locals, Ngwesaung of tourists.

The Division consists of five boroughs: Pathein, Hinthada, Myaungmya, Maubin and Pyapon. Pathein is the capital of the division.
