Azerbaijani parliamentary election, 2010

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan in 2010 was held in Azerbaijan on November 7, 2010.

Background

There were redistributed the seats for the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The last election was the election of 2005.

In the election occurred at around 700 candidates for 125 seats. 4.9 million people were eligible to vote.

The opposition accused the government in advance of election tampering.

Result

The Government New Azerbaijan Party won 72 of 125 seats. That was an increase of 9 seats .. 48 seats went to independent candidates. Two seats went to the Motherland Party, three seats to the " Civil Solidarity Party."

According to the opposition, the elections were falsified open. So it should have been possible in some constituencies, multiple select.
