Baba Deep Singh

Deep Singh ( Punjabi: ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ; * January 20, 1682 in Pahuwind, † November 11, 1757 ) is revered in the Sikh religion as a martyr.

He comes from the village in the district of Amritsar Pahuwind. In 1700, he went to Anandpur Shaib, where he was baptized the Sikh. He then began his teaching weapons and learned to ride. From Bhai Mani Singh, he learned to read and write Gurmukhi. 1702 he returned to his village and married there. In 1705 he went to Talwandi Sabo to Guru Gobind Singh, Bhai Mani Singh where he was when making copies of the Guru Granth Sahib help ( holy book of the Sikhs ). Since the Guru had to go to Delhi, Deep Singh, the service was told to look after things in the Gurudwara Damdama Sahib.

1709 Banda Singh Bahadur he met in Sirhind. 1733 named Nawab Kapoor Singh Singhpuria him the leader of a unit. In April 1748 he was leader of the Shaheedan Misl ( soldiers unit ). In April 1757 he participated in the liberation of prisoners.
