Bad Dürrheim transmitter

The transmitter Bad Durrheim was a broadcast transmitter system for short and medium wave south of Bad Durrheim, which was put into operation on 16 October 1950 by the Southwest Radio. It was located between the Homestead Ankenbuck and State Road 27 in Won Upper Schabel. As a transmitting antenna for medium wave used was a 120 -meter-high, insulated against ground selbstrahlender transmission tower, as a transmitting antenna for shortwave a 12 -meter mast with four meters in diameter was used.

After the Südwestfunk had taken his new Bodensee transmitter for short and medium wave at Meßkirch in operation, he handed the transmitter Bad Durrheim end of 1964 to the German Federal Post Office, which used this from 1 February 1965 on the broadcasting of the Germany radio with a transmitter power of 20 kW.

Since the program of the Germany radio in the area, which supplied the transmitter Bad Durrheim, was received in 1968 and in sufficient quality via the transmitter Ravensburg, was not applied for new frequency allocation in the context of the Geneva wave plan and the facility with its entry into force on 23 November 1978 shut down.

Then, the antenna systems (including the foundations and Abstimmhäuser ) were dismantled and built on the site of the former medium wave transmitter masts a plant for drinking water (at least put this a few gullies on the meadow near). The former station building still exists and is now used as a residence.
