The Bad Soden- Salmuenster station is the town of Bad Soden- Salmuenster station on the Kinzig Valley Railway in Hesse.
History
The station was opened ( road ) of the Kinzig Valley Railway on July 1, 1868 with the opening of the section Waechtersbach - Steinau. The Kinzig Valley Railway is part of the former Electorate of Hesse and the Prussian railway project Frankfurt- Bebra railway. The original name was still 1880 Salmuenster, then Salmuenster - Soden ( in 1914 ), then Salmuenster -Bad Soden (still 1971).
The receiving station building is now a cultural monument under the Hessian Monument Protection Act.
Traffic
The station has a house and an island platform. The main platform ( platform 1) and track 2 are exclusively served by the regional express trains on the Frankfurt Hbf - Hanau Hbf relation - Waechtersbach - Fulda. Track 3, which is located next to platform 2 on the island platform serves the individual regional trains of the relation Frankfurt Hbf - Hanau Hbf Guardian Bach Bad Soden- Salmuenster.
The station is now operated exclusively by local and regional traffic. The ICE and IC trains go by without stopping.
