Bagdad is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Santa Rosa County in the U.S. state of Florida with 3,761 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Baghdad is located immediately south of Milton and some 35 km north-east of Pensacola. The CDP is affected by Interstate 10.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 3,761 inhabitants distributed to 1,632 households. The population density was 413.3 inh. / Km ². 84.6 % of the population were white, 8.7% African American, 1.0% Native American and 1.2% Asian Americans. 0.7 % were members of other ethnic groups and 3.8% in different ethnic groups. 3.0% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 28.8 % of all households lived in 33.4 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 70.8 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.56 persons and the average family size is 3.00.

26.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 25.0 % were 20-39 years old, 27.3 % were 40-59 years old and 21.3 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 39 years. 49.2 % of the population were male and 50.8 % female.

The average annual income was $ 44,036, while 11.7 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100 % of the population.

Economy

A significant industry, there is not. The main employment sectors are: education, health and social services: ( 18.0 %), trade / retail ( 13.8%), manufacturing ( 11.2% ), construction ( 13.8 %).
