Bahr al-Arab

Bahr al-Arab (Arabic Bahr al - ʿ بحر العرب Arab: "River of the Arabs " ), also called Kiir, is a river in Sudan and South Sudan.

The Bahr al - Arab is around 800 kilometers long and flows at the confluence with the Jur in the river Bahr el Ghazal.

It rises on the mountain Ngaja Bongo Massif, near the border with the Central African Republic and flows to a large extent by the state of Dschanub Darfur.

Tributaries include Shalleikha, Lol, Kyom, Jur and Wadi Ibra.

The river is affected in the summer of flooding and not navigable.

He is roughly the border between North and South Sudan.
