Banize

Banize is a commune of 170 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Creuse in the Limousin region. It belongs administratively to the district Aubusson and the canton of Saint- Sulpice- les -Champs.

Geography

Banize is located approximately 15 kilometers west of Aubusson and 30 kilometers south-east of Gueret. The neighboring municipalities are

  • Saint- Sulpice- les -Champs in the north,
  • Saint -Michel -de- Veisse in the Northeast,
  • Vallière in the east and south,
  • Le Monteil -au -Vicomte in the southwest and
  • Chavanat in the West.

The municipal area abuts the northern border of the Regional Park Millevaches en Limousin and is crossed by the river of the same Banize which opens on the western boundary of the municipality in the Taurion.
