Banknock

Banknock (from Gaelic Baile nan Cnoc ) is a village in the Scottish unitary authority Falkirk and the traditional county of Stirlingshire. It is 12 km west from Falkirk and 25 miles north-east of Glasgow, near the border of Falkirk and North Lanarkshire located at Bonny Water. In 2001 Banknock recorded 2529 inhabitants.

With banker was 1827-1928 an active distillery in Banknock.

Traffic

The A80, which connects Glasgow with Stirling, affected Banknock in the east. Banknock 1884 was connected with its own railway station on the railway network. By placing the track in 1935 and the station was closed. As the waterway south running Forth and Clyde Canal is available.
