Barbara Antonie Barth

Barbara Antonie Barth, later of Bartolf ( born October 25, 1871 in Munich, † 23 May 1956 Garmisch -Partenkirchen ), was the second wife of Duke Ludwig of Bavaria.

Life

Antonie Barth was the daughter of Louis Barth and Maria Clara Beyhl born and grew up in Munich. As a ballet dancer at the Munich Court Theatre drew the attention of the widowed Duke Ludwig of Bavaria to be the morganatic they married in Munich on November 19, 1892; Antonie, which had been collected until three days before the marriage as "Woman of Bartolf " to the peerage, thus, was the sister of Empress Elisabeth of Austria.

The age difference of 40 years between Antonie and the Duke was not a good basis for marriage from the beginning and may sometimes have been a reason that Antonie relationship with a younger lover, Maximilian Mayr ( 1878-1960 ) from Bayreuth, was received. From this ratio in 1913 went to a daughter out what the Duke moved to the divorce, which was completed on July 11, 1913 in Munich.

Then shut Antonie on June 14, 1914 in Munich, the marriage with the father of her child.

Progeny

The daughter Hélène Mayr (1913-2006) married in 1971 Friedrich Christian, Prince of Schaumburg -Lippe ( 1906-1983 ), who was in 1939 as King of Iceland in conversation, and so became stepmother of two children, Albrecht and Christine, married Baroness von Susskind - Schwendihotel.
