Barbara Burke

Barbara Hannah Anita Burke ( born May 13, 1917 in Norwood (London ); † August 8, 1998, in Johannesburg, South Africa) was a British track and field athlete and Olympian.

At the Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936, she won the team silver medal in the 4 x 100 - meter relay along with teammates Eileen Hiscock, Violet Olney and Audrey Brown behind the team from the USA (Gold ) and before the team from Canada ( bronze). In the 100 - meter race she retired after 12.2 s out in the semifinals.

At a height of 1.77 m her competition weight was 63 kg.
