Barbara Schwartz (tennis)

Barbara Schwartz (born 27 January 1979 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian tennis player.

Career

Barbara Schwartz began in 1995 at the age of 16 years, her career as a professional on the WTA Tour. 1999, it reached number 40 in the WTA world ranking their highest ranking in singles. You could chalk up in their careers two tournament victories in a double, the first in 2002 in Brussels ( Belgium ) and the other in 2004 in Bogotá ( Colombia). Both titles she won at the side of the Germans Jasmin Woehr. In addition, she managed to twice a finals, 2000 in Auckland (Australia), with Austrian Patricia Wartusch and 2002 in Vienna with Jasmin Woehr.

Fed Cup

Schwartz also played several years for the Austrian Fed Cup team (1998-99, 2001-02, 2004 and 2006 ). 2002 and 2004 they reached the semi-finals with the team each: 2002 failed with 2:3 to Spain and in 2004 after a 4-1 victory in the quarterfinals over the United States with 0:5 to Russia. Schwartz's Fed Cup balance stands at 9:8 victories, she was involved in the biggest successes of the OTV.

Barbara Schwartz ended their active career in 2006.
