Barbaroux

The red variety Barbaroux comes from the south of France, where it is authorized in the appellation Côtes de Provence and Cassis and in some vineyards of Corsica. She is very old and was formerly widespread. The hellbeerige variety produces aromatic red wines with low acidity, a medium alcohol potential and good aging plants. However, it needs a fertile soil and a warm climate. Since it is very susceptible to raw rot and mildew, the stock of bestockter with Barbaroux surface is in steady decline. It is frequently used for private consumption as a table grape.

In Piedmont and Emilia -Romagna is called the variety Barbarossa and was rediscovered in the community at Bertinoro Forli and selected for conservation breeding.

For commercial cultivation of clone 937 is approved in France. Barbaroux is a variety of the noble vine (Vitis vinifera ). It has hermaphrodite flowers and is thus self- fruiting. When the wine-growing economic disadvantage is avoided, no return delivered to have male plants grow.
