Barchovice

Barchovice ( German Barchowitz ) is a village with 210 inhabitants, consisting of three hamlets in Okres Kolin, Czech Republic. The first mention of the village 1340.

Attractions

The Old Slavic Castle Wall Hryzely was once a watch tower on the southern border of Kourim in the 8th and 9th centuries. The ruin is protected by three quite well-preserved Wall chains. The steep slopes to the creek towards Vavřinecký are less protected, sometimes they are missing. Both pre-forts were probably colonized not continuous, only the located behind the ramparts of three so-called Acropolis was inhabited. In the north, a pliers- shaped gate, the only entrance to The Castle.
