Barclodiad y Gawres ( " apron full of giant " ) is a major megalithic mound grave Môn Mam Cymru on the island ( Anglesey ) before the nordwestwalisischen coast. The megalithic site located on the southwest coast of the island between the villages of Rhosneigr and Aberffraw. It is one of the rare passage tombs of Newgrange or Maes Howe - type production, whose design included the design to Four Knocks.

Inside the grave mound of Barclodiad y Gawres are a main and two side compartments. For a long megalithic sculptures ( spiral shapes and wavy lines ) were known to five stones; on a sixth in 2007 other sculptures of the same kind were discovered in the year.

The megalithic site of Barclodiad y Gawres was used sacred in the Neolithic and the Bronze Age. In Celtic times they could use a Druid groves of Môn Mam Cymru have been in contact, mentions the Tacitus. This is therefore not excluded because Megalithheiligtümer often also had significance in the pagan insular Celtic religion. For example, New Grange plays an important role in Celtic mythology of Ireland.
