Baron Strathcona and Mount Royal

Baron Strathcona and Mount Royal, of Mount Royal in the Province of Quebec and Dominion of Canada and of Glencoe in the County of Argyll, is a British hereditary title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which is run by the Smith family. He was given to the same person twice.

Ceremonies

The title was first created in 1897 for those born in Scotland Canadian financier and politician Sir Donald Smith. This title became extinct in 1914 when Smith died without a male descendant.

The second award was presented again in 1900 at Smith, but now with the specific note that the title could pass on to his only daughter, and their male descendants lack sons. This is what happened.
