Bart Berman

Bart Berman (Hebrew ברט ברמן; born December 29, 1938 in Rotterdam) is a Dutch- Israeli pianist. He is best known as an interpreter of Franz Schubert and new music.

He studied piano with Jaap Spaanderman at the Amsterdam Conservatory and completed his studies with Theo Bruins and a master class with Alfred Brendel.

As a soloist him the first prize was fed known competition for interpreters of contemporary music, friends wreath of the Concertgebouw and four first prizes for young soloists in the Gaudeamus. It occurs in Israel, Europe and North America as a soloist and in various chamber music groups.

Bart Berman studied composition with Bertus van Lier at the Amsterdam Conservatory and Wouter van den Berg. He has some original works composed cadenzas to all the concertos by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven and a second piano part to Sonatinas of Clementi and Daniel Steibelt. Best known his accomplishments were to Schubert's unfinished piano sonatas and JS Bach's Art of Fugue.
