Basil Shaaban
Basil Shaaban (* March 27, 1980 in Beirut ) is a Lebanese racing driver.
After Shaaban 1999-2003 was active in karting, he made in 2004 in the British Formula Ford first experience in Formula racing. In 2005 he took part in several races of the 3000 Pro Series and a race in the Italian Formula 3 Championship. In the winter he went along with two other drivers for the Lebanese A1GP Team in the A1GP season 2005/2006. After he took part in 2006 in some races as a guest driver in the national class of the British Formula 3 Championship, he drove in the 2006/2007 season again in the A1GP series.
2007 moved Shaaban in the Formula 3 Euro Series HBR Motorsport. The Lebanese, who at HBR Motorsport remained in the Euro Series in 2008, could enter no points in two years. He also took part in two races in the British Formula 3 Championship as a guest driver. 2009 Shaaban denied for the Prema Powerteam his third season in the Euro Series. When race weekend in Barcelona, he scored the first points in the feature race and was third in a day later for the first time in his formula racing career at all on the podium. In the overall classification, he finished 17th overall.
