Basilica and Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help

The Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help is a Roman Catholic Basilica in Boston's Mission Hill in the state of Massachusetts in the United States. It is also known in short as Mission Church.

Redemptorists built in 1870, a modest, wooden mission church on the site where now stands the basilica. Construction on the present building began in 1878 using the mined near conglomerate rock Roxbury Puddingstone. The spiers were added in 1910. Because of the foundation with slope on which the church stands, stands on the western cross on 215 ft (66 m), while the other tower 2 ft (1 m) is shorter. The length of the church is also 215 ft (66 m), making the building has perfect proportions. The church was founded in 1956 by Pope Pius XII. in the status of a minor basilica raised.

The building is located on Tremont Street in the center of Boston's Mission Hill neighborhood, which the Church has given its name. Therefore, it is also a symbol of the district.

In the Basilica of the funeral of Senator Ted Kennedy took place on August 29, 2009. There he had often prayed, because the church is in the vicinity of hospitals in the Longwood Medical and Academic Area, where he visited the sick and wounded family members.
