Bašnice

Bašnice ( German Baschnitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 21 km north-west of the center of Hradec Králové and belongs to Okres Jičín.

Geography

Bašnice is located in the North Bohemian plateau at the creek Bašnický creek, which is north of the village in the pond Dobrovecký jammed fishpond. Another big pond this pond area is the creek fed by Chlumský Cukrovarský fishpond. West of the village, the forest area of ​​the Bašnický les connects. North of the railway line runs Bašnice Hradec Králové - Stara Paka, at the Dobra Voda is in u Hořic the nearest railway station.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1318 under the name Bašněves as the seat of Vladiken Petr of Bašněves. At the end of the 14th century was Jan Kule of Bašněves owner of the village, and later the family of the UZIK of Bašněves. During the Hussite Wars, the Battle of Horschitz took place northeast of the village in April 1423. To the place were two outworks, one of which is passed on as the site of a fortress since 1499. This was due to the sale of the property rule Bašněves, were among the several surrounding villages, first documented in records by Václav and Markvart UZIK to Jan Krupy of Probluz. 1521 acquired by Vojtěch Pernštejna ( 1490-1534 ) Bašnice and closed the goods to his reign Chlumec nad Cidlinou.
