Bátka

Bátka ( until 1927 slovak " Batka "; Hungarian Bátka ) counted is a municipality in the south- central Slovakia with 956 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2011), the Region is located in the Okres Rimavská Sobota, a circle of Banskobystrický and landscape Gemer will.

Geography

The municipality is located in the central part of the basin Rimavská kotlina (part of Juhoslovenská kotlina ) on the lower reaches of the river Blh. The municipal area is flat to slightly undulating and covered with Au and illimerisierten floors. The center is located at an altitude of 178 m nm and is 12 kilometers east of Rimavská Sobota.

Neighboring municipalities are Rakytnik in the north, on a short piece Kalosa in the east, in the southeast Dulovo, zip in the south, Sutor in the southwest and Tomášovce in the west and northwest.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1294 as Bathka writing; In the 14th century it was divided into Alsóbátka (1414 Bathka So, Slovak Dolna Bátka ) and Felsőbátka ( 1341 Febatka, 1414 Felseubathka, Slovak Horna Bátka ), ie a lower and an upper part. 1828 there were 58 houses in Alsóbátka and 497 inhabitants and 19 houses and 159 inhabitants Felsőbátka; in both places, the main source of income was agriculture. In 1907, merged into a community.

Until 1918/1919, the in- county Gemer and small Hont place belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and was then Czechoslovakia and Slovakia today. From 1938 to 1944 he was on the basis of the First Vienna Award again in Hungary.

From 1964 to 1990, the neighboring Dulovo was a part of the community.

Population

According to the 2011 census lived in Bátka 968 inhabitants, of whom 700 Magyars, 206 Slovaks, 19 Roma, two Czechs and Ukrainians. 40 inhabitants gave no information. 449 inhabitants known to the Reformed Church, 285 inhabitants to the Roman Catholic Church, 33 inhabitants to the Jehovah's Witnesses, 20 inhabitants to the Evangelical Church AB, nine inhabitants to the Greek Catholic Church and two residents of the United Methodist Church. 111 inhabitants were non-denominational and 59 inhabitants, the denomination is not determined.
