The Mindanao - rat tail hair is often only on Leyte, on the eponymous island of Mindanao only a few specimens were found at Kitanglad at altitudes around 2000 meters. According to IUCN, the species is not endangered.

The Großzähnige hair tail rat is only known from a single specimen, which was found in the province of Benguet. About their degree of risk is not known.

The Dinagat hair tail rat was not described until 1998. According to IUCN is the kind of " high risk " ( endangered ).
