Battle for Terra

Terra is an animated film from the year 2007. Directed by Aristomenis Tsirbas, who also wrote the screenplay. Terra was originally a short film from 2003, which has now been implemented for the big screen. The film was shown for the first time on 8 September 2007 at the Toronto International Film Festival 2007. During the filming of a second camera was used, from which recordings later a 3D version was developed.

Action

The film is about Mala, a girl from the planet Terra. Terra, and the Terrans are faced when mankind, after having exhausted the resources of already three planets will terraform the planet Terra with their own destruction. The result of this process would be toxic living conditions for the Terrans. Mala joins forces with a crashed human pilot, Jim, who shares her desire for a peaceful solution to the conflict. The two are confronted with both machinations of human politicians, as well as with the Terraformer throughout the film.
