Battle of Lake Vadimo (310 BC)

The First Battle of the Vadimonischen lake took place around the year 310 BC between the Romans and the Etruscans.

In the Second Samnitenkrieg the Etruscans were allied with the Samnites against Rome. So they threatened the northern flank of the Roman colony. On Vadimonischen lake ( at Falerii ) it finally came to battle. The Roman consul Quintus Fabius troops under the defeated in battle the Etruscans. The Etruscan city Tarquinii then entered into a landscaped 40 years of peace.

In 283 BC it came on the shore of the lake to a second battle.
