Bavarian State Picture Collection

The Bavarian State Painting Collections serve a substantial portion of the paintings and art collection of the Free State of Bavaria. Art historians of various specialties, scientists and restorers of the connected Doerner Institute along with numerous other helpers in mind to manage a large portfolio of more than 30,000 objects to obtain, and to develop scientific.

Management

Predecessor of the Directorate of the Bavarian State Painting Collections was established in 1799 " Central Art Gallery Directorate ". The administrative headquarters of the Bavarian State Painting Collections located in the building of the Neue Pinakothek in Munich.

Director General since March 1, 2009 Klaus Schrenk ( to 2009 director of the Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe) as successor by Reinhold Baumstark, Peter- Klaus Schuster and Prince Johann Georg of Hohenzollern. The Director General has received remuneration of grade 4 salary scale B. The management of the Bavarian State Painting Collections is organizationally located in the business area of the Bavarian State Ministry of Sciences, Research and the Arts.
