The BK Astana (Russian БК Астана ) is a Kazakh professional basketball team from Astana, the Kazakh plays in the National League and in the VTB United League.

History

The club was founded in 2011 on the basis of new Astana Tigers. The predecessor joined the 2.kasachische Liga.Bereits shortly after the establishment of the newly formed team came in December 2011, the profit of the Kazakh Cup. This success, the team could repeat in 2012. Without competition, the team remained in the Kazakh Cup. In the 2011/12 season the team undefeated in the regular season and the Final Four sovereign Kazakh champion. In the VTB United League Astana was in the first season seventh in Group A. In the 2012/13 season once again achieved the domestic double. In the VTB -UL is eliminated in the quarterfinals of the playoffs.
