Rules on the basis of Rugby League

Pitch

The usual field length is between thirty and fifty meters at twenty to 35 meters in width; the Malfelder are three to seven feet deep. Goal posts are not available and the lines of the field are usually interpreted with straps or ropes.

Duration of the Match

A game lasts two periods between five and seven minutes to three minutes with a half-time. An extension can be added depending on local competition rules.

Number of players

Depending on the size of the field a team consists of five to seven players. Three to seven substitutes can usually be exchanged during the current game.

Game machine

The game machine is an ordinary rugby ball size but often in size 4 instead of the one used by Men's Rugby 5

Points

Since there are no goal posts, the drop of the ball in the opponents in-goal (an " experiment" ) is usually counted with a dot. Some leagues decide games that are tied at the end of the season, by the next experiment ( sudden death ).

An Italian league divides the in-goal into five equally sized rectangles. Tests, which are placed in the two outer rectangles include three trials in the middle and five trials in the two intermediate areas four points. Similarly as in the official Rugby variants in which the increase is made easier kick is stored in the further the center of the ball, characterized in the center of a test -goal is valuable. However, it is unknown whether this League still exists.

Game play

This uses the rules of rugby league with some modifications. The offside line is usually respected, but the distance is never more than five meters. After a tackle the player held the ball must pass or pass within three seconds, otherwise his team lose possession. Often a variation of rugby league rule is applied that changes after six consecutive tackles the ball; sometimes, however, no tackles are counted and the only way to gain possession of the ball is due to a fault of the opponent. Some leagues play even just touch or tag rugby and refrain entirely harsh physical contact.

Usually kicking the ball is not allowed; the exception is a short kick to restart the game.

The rugby typical standard situations alley and crowding are often replaced by a short kick at the Beach Rugby, as well as the start and restart the game runs with a short kick. However, the rules vary from tournament to tournament often, in many tournaments, both street and hustle integral part of the game. Since ruck and packages usually also not are part of the game, the main emphasis is on the run and passing game of the two teams.

Tournaments

Great beach rugby tournaments are held regularly in the summer. In Europe, especially the tournaments on Ameland with over 140 participating teams, the invitational tournament in Lignano and the French Rugby Federation ( FFR) are organized beach rugby tour with 10 stations and a French Beach Championship worth mentioning.

In Germany tournaments in Trier, Bad Koestritz, Saarbrücken and Hamburg will take place. The tournaments are organized by the University of Trier, the Stade Sarrois Saarbrücken, Eastern Province Rugby Club and the Jesteburg wombats. The tournament in Hamburg is a special feature, because it is traditionally performed in a hall in winter between Christmas and New Year.
