Polymixia sp.
The beard fish ( genus Polymixia ) are a ten extant species of species of the genuine bony fish ( Teleostei ). The scientific name refers to its skin, " much slime " produced. The 14-48 cm long fish live in tropical and subtropical regions of the Atlantic, the Indian Ocean ( especially before Natal) and the Western Pacific at depths 180-640 meters.
Features
Bart fish have a moderately elongated, laterally compressed and covered with comb shed body. Her eyes are large. Your striking feature two head long hyoid barbels, they ( in sandy to muddy sediment - ie particularly worms, small shellfish and crustaceans) for the detection of the food at the bottom use.

In addition to the single still living genus four other fossil genera from the Upper Cretaceous are known: Berycopsis, Dalmatichthys, Omosoma and Omosomopsis.
