Beate Peters

Beate Edeltraud Peters ( born October 12, 1959 in Marl, North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a former German track and field athlete and Olympian, which belonged in the 1980s, a world leader in the javelin.

Her biggest success is the third place at the 1987 World Championships ( 68.82 m - invalid - 62,24 - 61.12 to 57.96 - invalid).

The year before, in 1986, her third place was also successful at the European Championships ( 65.72 to 68.04 m - 63.14 - invalid - from 60.38 to 64.50 ).

More launches at international highlights: Every seventh place at the World Championships 1983 ( 62.42 m) and the 1984 Olympic Games ( 62.34 m); In 1988, she dropped out in qualifying for the 1988 Olympic Games.

Beate Peters started for the OSC Dortmund, from 1986 to 1988 for the TV Wattenscheid. In her playing days, she was 1.78 m tall and weighed 80 kg.
