Beatrice of Bavaria

Beatrix of Bavaria ( * probably in 1344, † December 25, 1359 ) was a Bavarian princess of the house of Wittelsbach, and as the wife of Erik XII. Queen of Sweden.

Beatrix's parents were either the Roman-German Emperor Louis IV and his second wife Margaret of Holland, King Ludwig's son, Louis V and his first wife, Margaret of Denmark. In December 1355 or the spring of 1356 Beatrix married probably in Berlin the Swedish Crown Prince Erik XII. Magnusson.

In the fall of 1356, her husband brought an action against his father Magnus II, who in 1357 gave him a part of the Kingdom of Sweden. Beatrix was thus Queen of Sweden. Erik XII. but he died in the summer of 1359, probably of the plague; the pregnant Beatrix followed him a few months later.

Beatrix's tomb is located in the Dominican monastery in Stockholm.
