The Beausejour Stadium is a cricket stadium near Gros Islet Gros -Islet Quarter of Saint Lucia. It offers 20,000 spectators. It owes its name to the Beausejour Hills. The plant was built on an approximately 9 -acre area. Visiting teams are 18 accommodation with private training room, lounge and meeting room.

Location

The stadium is located in the driest area of St. Lucia in the northeast of Rodney Bay, about 6 minutes by car from downtown Gros Islets away on the highway Castries - Gros Islet.

Equipment

The Beausejour Stadium meets high quality standards. The "West Indies Cricket Board " intended after the opening to make this sports complex as a model to other cricket stadiums in the Caribbean. The playing field is made in the shape of an oval and four floodlight pylons allow day -night games. The ends are called the Pavilion End and Media Centre End. Here in 2003 was the first time a day -night game played in the Caribbean.

There are 18 lodges and 13,000 seats; if required, the number of which can be increased to 20,000.

Sports events

The first match was held on 8 June 2002 as a One- Day International. The West Indies competed against New Zealand. Here the first test match of the West Indies against Sri Lanka was held in June 2003. During the Cricket World Cup 2007, six group matches and one semi-final were played in this stadium during the ICC World Twenty20 in 2010, four groups and between rounds of play and both semi-finals.

The stadium is also used for football matches and other football events.
