Beaver (singer)

Beverley "Beaver" Jean Morrison (born 1950 in Lower Hutt, Wellington, † May 23, 2010 in Auckland ) was a New Zealand rock and jazz singer.

Morrison, which appeared under the name of Beaver, was the daughter of pianist John Morrison. In the early 1970s, she toured as a member of the musical theater group Blerta ( and was the lead singer on their album ), and later with Red Mole. She also sang country music and played small film roles, such as Should I Be Good (1985). They had their own bands and sang the theme song of the TVNZ series Gloss (Single 1987).

Mid-1980s, she appeared with Brian Smith and Geoff Castle in Auckland on jazz context. Your London arisen album Live at Ronnie Scott's ( 1987 with Ray Warleigh and Geoff Castle) in 1988 recognized as the best jazz album of New Zealand.

On 23 May 2010 she died in a hospital in Auckland after six years of fighting against a sarcoma due to their severe disease.
