Bei Yan

In Yan (Chinese卑 衍, Pinyin at Yǎn; * in China, † 237 ) was an officer of the Three Kingdoms period (3rd century AD) in ancient China, who served the Chinese warlord Gongsun Yuan. After this had broken 237 of his liege lord Cao Rui ( Emperor of the Wei dynasty ) in the year, he turned his general Sima Yi on the battlefield. He lost the battle and withdrew. Once again, he gathered his troops and risked a second attack, but fell after a tough battle in the duel with the Wei general Xiahou Ba.
