Believers Never Die - Greatest Hits is the first compilation album by the American pop rock band Fall Out Boy. It was published in the German-speaking area on 27 November 2009 in Iceland Records and is the last release of the band before their time out in 2010.

Formation

The majority of the title comes from the previously released albums of the band, with Alpha Dog and From Now on We Are Enemies, however, two new songs were recorded for the album. With Yule Shoot Your Eye Out and Growing Up further two previously unreleased songs were released as bonus material on the CD. In addition, there is a deluxe version that includes a DVD in addition to the CD, are included in the comments of the band and bonus material. For the single release Alpha Dog, a music video was released, which consists of a montage of old music videos and videos of tours.

The album was released on November 17, 2009 in the U.S., on 27 November 2009 it appeared in German-speaking countries.

Chart positions

Compared to other albums by Fall Out Boy, the album reached only lower chart positions. The highest placement was achieved in Australia, where the album debuted at number 25 on the charts and held two weeks. Be held In the U.S. the album a week in the charts and was able to reach number 77. Also in the British charts, the album was represented for one week, but could only reach number 88 there.

Reviews

By music critics, the album was rated mixed reviews but mostly remained average.

A very positive evaluation received the album from Allmusic. Critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine writes about the album that Fall Out Boy show, the compilation, that they were not an integral part of the mainstream rock of the decade. When he forgives Overall 4.5 stars out of 5.

Deborah Katona of Laut.de holds a different opinion. She says that was placed at the song selection too much emphasis on the mass appeal and the consequent loss of the strengths of the band. This album acts upon them dull and boring. It awards a score only 2 out of 5 stars.

Plattentests.de rated the album with 6 out of 10 points on average. Critic Sven Cadario writes to the album that the record not for real rock fans would be, but otherwise the songs are very catchy, even if they are not musically very high quality.

Matthias Reichel of cdstarts.de 5 awards out of 10 and says to the album that a publication of a best-of album was unnecessary and therefore am good only for new fans of the band.
