Beluša

Beluša ( German rarely Bellusch, Hungarian Bellus ) is a municipality in the north-western Slovakia. It is located in the northern parts of Ilavská kotlina and one of the largest communities of Považie.

The village was first mentioned in 1330 as terra Belus. 1439 as it is to rule Trenčín duly noted, in 1534 it is mentioned as a customs post, 1659 is the place awarded market rights. A castle, which also serves as the seat of the Komitatsherrschern is built at the beginning of the 16th century, but falls victim to a fire in 1723. At the beginning of the 19th century, the first Korbmacher School of the Kingdom of Hungary was opened in the town.

By 1918, the community is in the county Trenčín a part of the Kingdom of Hungary and comes after the newly formed Czechoslovakia. 1948 A non-ferrous metal foundry will open in place.

Today, the community is divided in addition to the main town in the 1976 eingemeindeten places Hloža and Podhorie.

Worth seeing is the late Romanesque and early Gothic Church of St. Anne is from the second half of the 13th century. Next to her, there is the Catholic Church of 1560, the Baroque style in the 18th century.
