Ben Lomond Mountain AVA

Ben Lomond Mountain AVA ( recognized since 9 December 1987) is an American Viticultural Area in the U.S. state of California and is part of the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA regional and Central Coast AVA. The area is located in the western region of the Santa Cruz Mountains and extends within the administrative unit of Santa Cruz County, which is part of the San Francisco Bay Area.

In the 1860s, first Rebanpflanzungen were made. The vineyard is located at an altitude of almost 800 m above sea level. NN and therefore no longer benefits from the cool mists of the Pacific Ocean. Viticulture designed not easy: in the past, the vineyards were multiple victims of the Vine disease Pierce Disease. In addition, birds and game add the Rebbe stands repeatedly to significant damage. So far Beauregard Vineyards is the only winery that operates under the appellation Ben Lomond Mountain AVA.
