Ben Macdui

The Ben MacDhui (Gaelic Beinn Mhic Dhuibh ) is with 1309 meters after Ben Nevis, the second highest mountain in Scotland and thus also in Britain. It is located in the mountains of the Cairngorms, which extends across most of the eastern and central Scottish highlands and is considered one of the Munros.

Before surveying and creating accurate maps by the State Surveying Society Ordnance Survey was considered the Ben MacDhui for the highest point in the UK. As was confirmed by precise measurements that the highest mountain Ben Nevis, there have been proposals to build on the top of a so-called Cairn so that the Ben MacDhui could be considered as the highest mountain again. The plans, however, were not put into action.

According to legend, Ben MacDhui is also the home of Am Fear Liath Mòr ( "the great gray man " ), which should be similar to the Yeti.
