Ben Roberts (writer)

Ben Roberts ( born March 23, 1916 in Brooklyn, New York; † 12 MAY 1984 Los Angeles, California ) was an American screenwriter and producer.

Life

Roberts began his career at the end of the 1930s as a screenwriter. Until the 1960s, he was into it primarily involved in theater productions. Then he turned more and more to the production and development of television series. He was bpsw. responsible, together with Ivan Goff for the development of the series against crooks crooks and Charlie's Angels. The two co-authored many screenplays for movies.

For the screenplay for the film The Man with 1000 Faces Roberts was nominated in 1958, together with Ralph Wheelwright, R. Wright Campbell and Ivan Goff in the category of Best Original Screenplay Oscar.

For the Mannix series, he was nominated in 1972 and 1973 along with the rest of the production team for the Emmy.

Roberts was married and the father of three children.
