Benchmark (venture capital firm)

Benchmark Capital is a venture capital, founded in 1995 investment company based in Menlo Park and San Francisco, California.

1997 Benchmark Capital invested 6.7 million U.S. dollars in the auction house eBay, which was the best investment in Silicon Valley history. Two years later, those shares were worth five billion U.S. dollars.

Benchmark Capital currently manages three billion U.S. dollars. The portfolio includes early-stage investments in over 250 companies, including AOL, Research gate, Asana, Uber, Dropbox, eBay, Facebook, Instagram, MySQL, HP Palm, Quora, Second Life and Twitter.
