Benedict Fernandez

Benedict Fernandez (born 8 January 1985 in Bonn ) is a German football player. His father is a Spaniard from Oviedo, his mother is from Bottrop.

Career

Youth

Fernandez was goalkeeper for Bayer 04 Leverkusen, where he played with a half -year break from 2000 to 2011. From December 2004 to June 2005, he played on loan with the SC (Renault) Brühl. Before he first joined Bayer in 2000, he played at TUS Buisdorf and at Tura Hennef. He was German A Youth runner- U 19, A German Youth Vice Cup Winners U-19 and U -20 countries Cup Winners 2005.

Bayer Leverkusen

His Bundesliga debut Fernandez on February 10, 2007, when Jörg Butt in the 30th minute saw the red card in the match against Eintracht Frankfurt. Over the next two seasons, he came as a substitute for use when the number one turned out. In the 2009/10 season, however, he was even injured when Rene Adler could not play, so the five years younger Fabian Giefer had to stand. At the end of the 2010/11 season left Fernandez Leverkusen. In August 2011, he completed a trial with 1 FSV Mainz 05, but has no obligation, so he was out of contract from then on.

1 FC Saarbrücken

In May 2012, Fernandez was then taken from the third division 1 FC Saarbrücken under contract. There his contract was not renewed after one season with 18 points stakes. In its place, oblige the Saarland, Timo Ochs.

The goalkeeper with the shirt number 22 studied economics at the University of Cologne. In 2011 he received his degree. " But at the moment of course football has absolute priority for me.
