Benicarló

Benicarlo is a municipality in the Spanish province of Castellón in the north of the Valencian Community. It lies on the Mediterranean coast and is a popular destination for national and international tourism.

Transport and the economy

Besides tourism, agriculture plays an important economic role, especially the cultivation of artichokes. The artichoke is a component of the coat of arms Benicarlós, also the Fiesta de la Alcachofa ( Artichoke Festival dt ) is annually celebrated.
